Gaia

Gaia

A Poem by WindSong

A purple dahlia grows in a lavender field.

Flowers blow softly like long tresses of hair.

Gaia stretches along her summery paths,

And meadowlarks sing to her there.

The forest is peaceful in a misty haze.

Summertime zephyrs subside with the day.

The goddess weeps with the weeping willows,

And rose petals elegantly drift away.

Amid falling leaves of crimson and gold,

Blackbirds perch on the limbs of a tree.

Silver feathers still sway in the wind,

And light breezes gently breathe over me.

This poem of yours is stunningly beautiful. It evokes a love for Nature. I was inspire to write a sing-song version of your beautiful poem which you should keep as your own since it contains more of your lines than my lines. I wanted to make it sing like a song: Gaia is the Greek spelling for the English Gaea. I used the English spelling: Sing along:

Gaea

Lavender fields
of purple dahlia
cheerfully sway
like long tresses of hair.

As Gaea yawns,
Apollo egress’s;
meadowlarks serenade
both of them there.

Shrouded by haze,
her forest is peaceful;
Summertime zephyrs
subside with her day.

Her joyful sweet tears
join weeping willows;
scarlet rose petals
glide gently away.

Amid falling leaves,
ocher and golden,
blackbirds sequester
strong limbs on her trees.
Loose silver feathers
take flight on her breeze.

Her breath from the sea
flows through my window
where I’m still sleeping.
She breathes over me.

Highly visual with very good word selection, this poem transmits a scene to the reader almost to the point of feeling the breeze and smelling the lilacs. Very well done, Windsong.

The poem seems like a sweet dream.
Though I never saw a lavender field,yet I could imagine each flower and bird amidst the
lovely environment.
