A Field of LavenderA Poem by WindSongPetals from a purple orchid Drift softly on a sunlit morn. In the garden some blooms are full, The others are wilted and worn. I kneel closely by the wistful ones, There with a butterfly flitting away. I dream of a field of lavender And all that I'll gather today. Oh the willows are listless and weepy While I stroll along to a distant shore! There in the warm and seaward winds I embrace them all once more. The leaves of autumn fall, Summer recedes to the sea. Songbirds still sing in the breeze, A leaf floats gently to me. © 2014 WindSongAuthor's Note
