She Sees Her Asleep

She Sees Her Asleep

A Poem by Reeses

If I could talk to death, I'd ask her to give a life back
Give a dreamer a new dream, they'll appreciate what they almost lacked
Give hope to the believer that care almost forgot
Life is too short to sleep, and sleep is too precious to not

I'd ask her if she likes her job and how's the emotional pay?
How does it feel to break millions of hearts each and everyday?
Does she randomly choose or is it even her at fault?
Or does she even realize the cost of burying loved ones in an underground vault?

Thinking of these things before sleeping, Death herself met me in a dream
Maybe it was just my imagination that made up this scene
She asked for my hand and told me that my concerns made sense
And she told me to hold on tight because this ride would be intense

We stumbled across her cases and as I watched death I wept
We made it to her final victim, and we watched me as i slept..

Are there does spared? hmmmm..

Interesting poem. I enjoyed the conversation with death. The personification of death makes the poem work well.
