![]() Scarred RealityA Poem by ReesesI’m living a damn nightmare Promises broken, eyes swollen from the tears of the air The streets breathe heat in search of mental vision to impair I cry like a kid too small to jump the rides at the fair I don’t walk with my head down I ride with my sound loud Trying to write out the spiritual demons I’m hearing in the background This world is an unanswered bell Its citizens laugh, so close to hell The media is just an easy, quick, and formal way to go to jail So many trying to kill another Don’t kill your brother, ask Pac’s mother We need to learn to love each other Maybe life would take us further We have become so ignorant to life’s advantages Caught up in brutal savageness Why do the police pull dumb stunts? I say f*ck it and light my mental blunts I live my life in that golden haze I rhyme and blaze, like Langston’s days The safest life to live is barred It’s so hard to dream when reality is scarred I’m suffering from the world’s sun beams Praying that my reality were a bunch of dreams © 2009 ReesesReviews
