Calming Waves

Calming Waves

A Poem by Maurice Lee

Like the calm before storm, you're what keeps my heart at ease, but like the moons gravity pushes and pulls the waves of the ocean. You make the emotion from within me stir, as the waves begin to smash into one another I'm filled with excitement when you come into my view and as every step leads you close to me, a nervous storm starts to break loose causing my heart rate to shoot up and my brain to rattle, but when our hands meet the sky clears and the moon appears. Bright and beautiful as ever, than as your head lays on my chest and my arms become wrapped around you, the ocean within is calm again.
