My MuseA Poem by Jonathan Daniel ReeseI have two versions of this. This one is the poem version, the second (which I will post later) is rearranged to a lyrical format.
You're the cause of my affliction,
the drug to my addiction. Your words can get me high. You're the paint on my canvas, the Oz to my Kansas, it's hard to get this right... To me you are the breath I need, I struggle for your air I'm drowning in your absence, I'm falling to despair I gasp to catch a fleeting breath, a whisper from the wind To hear your voice just one more time, I need to breathe you in You're a sea of boundless beauty, no words can close compare there is nothing, no, not one thing, it simply isn't fair The beauty of the sunlight as it dances on autumn leaves, the stars that shine or the pale moonlight that give the night reprieve, the glisten of the snowfall, the mountains that grace the sky the sun at set, the sun at rise, the parade of northern lights overshadowed in comparison, paled to my view A clever lie, a simple ruse it simply isn't true You see these things are more to me, alive because of you You mean all of this to me, and more than you will ever know I will be your audience, if you will be my show © 2015 Jonathan Daniel ReeseReviews
