A Poem by Jonathan Daniel Reese

Sunset on the horizon

intertwined with the violet skies

complications almost over

questioning and curious minds

Hold my breath as i lay thinking

anticipation about what comes next

can you see I'm slowly sinking?

Can you see how you leave me vexed

what to do but sing a silent prayer

hold it up to the midnight air

blow a kiss for all those dreaming

Holding on with no thoughts of leaving
