FallA Poem by Reese S. M. DatchomA poem about what Fall means to me.Fall means crisp air, And bright sunshine, Colorful leaves floating from the sky. Fall means loud laughter, Long talks with friends, And secret smiles. Fall means waking up early, Going to bed late, Never a free weekend. Fall means movie nights, Harry Potter marathons, Countless hours spent watching Sherlock. Fall means marching band, Every Friday night football game, Early Saturday morning competition practices. Fall means hot tea, Reading Pride and Prejudice, And drinking Starbucks. Fall means long school days, Far too much homework, Staying up until one in the morning. Fall means Halloween, Marching in parades, Fantastic costume parties. Fall means family, Being thankful for what you have, Big dinners with all the relatives. Fall means being outside, A cool breeze rustling the leaves, The chirping of crickets. Fall means crushes, Meeting new people, Learning more about those you already know. Fall means color guard, A tight-knit family, Inside jokes aplenty. Fall means a growth in faith, Seeing God in the beauty all around, Spending hours talking to Him. Fall means being busy and stressed, Never a free moment, Working yourself to exhaustion. Fall means seeing those I hold most dear, My marching band, My friends, My family, And my guard family. Fall means not being alone, Constantly seeing the ones I love, Surrounded by light and happiness. © 2013 Reese S. M. DatchomAuthor's Note
