"I Love You More"

"I Love You More"

A Poem by Reena Rainne
"

Valentine's Day tribute to my loving husband.

"

I love you more...

than Chocolate Cream Pie on a cloudy Sunday afternoon...

Or a serene, romantic venture

In a colossal hot air balloon...

I love you more...

than the glistening stars that fill a sultry summer's night sky...

Or a polished gift of precious jewels

Wealthy with gems, pleasing to the eye...

I love you more...

than Gifford's Grapenut ice cream or Breyer's sweet Mint Chocolate Chip...

And a large bag of Ruffles Ridges

With Hidden Valley's favorite Ranch dip...

I love you more...

than an action packed movie on a lonely, autumn Friday night...

Or the scent of a lilac lit candle

And the sedating gleam of it's light...

I love you more...

than the gloss of the moon on the sly Androscoggin River...

Or the warmth of a radiant fire

That soothes a long Winter's night shiver...

I love you more...

than my electric blanket and watching sitcombs lying in bed...

Or swaddling in a shawl on my chaisse

With my most esteemed novel instead...

I love you more...

than overstuffed bears that blanket my bed and clutter my floor...

And all the well-known name brand clothes

At my all time favorite Goodwill store...

I love you more...

than Coke or Grape juice mixed with a hint of sweet "happiness"...

And the gratification I get

When I hear that wonderful word, "yes"...

So my dear, with all my heart "I love you more"

I promise you cannot compare...

Against the love within your chambers

I trust you'd fail, come on I dare!
