"Love In A Box"

Father's Day Tribute to my father.

You can't wrap love up in a box

               and decorate it with ribbons and bows...

For its value is more precious

              than rubies, diamonds and gold...

 

Love abides through history

              of multitudes of deeds...

With selfless acts of giving

             and supplying others needs...

 

Love bestows a quiet comfort

            and wipes away our tears...

It shelters us from judgement

           and casts away our fears...

 

Love displays compassion

           to the many who are without...

And provides a sense of certainty

           even to things we doubt...

 

Love is a strong anchor

          through seas of rough waters...

It adheres to the ground

          and surely never faulters...

 

Love is always an action 

          never just a feeling or word...

It is something that is done

          not something that's just heard...

 

To wrap love up in a box

         would be impossible to do...

So, I am thankful to God

         that He wrapped love up in you!
