"In The Presence Of Sorrow"A Poem by Reena RainneI sat in the presence of sorrow today With occupied souls of relentless dismay,
Their eyes were fogged with salty tears From embracing memories of yesteryears,
Anger arrived with resentment in tow To steal loves intent to mend tomorrow,
The mood grew heavy with no resolute Leaving hearts amiss and destitute,
A journey withdrawn without insight Why death destroyed without care or slight,
Hearts and minds could not comprehend Why a youthful life should suddenly end,
We thrive to believe in a far better place Where souls find peace and amazing grace,
Our hearts find comfort with each new dawn With assured rebirth when this flesh is gone,
While sorrow still lingers a silver lining arrays Love will still find tomorrow through firm denseness of haze,
So, it is now in somber I collect my heart And go on my way 'til my time depart. © 2010 Reena RainneAuthor's Note
