Yet again…You apparate during my strollin the shaded glade near the pond.My feet tangle, I take coverbehind a big elm and listen to your step’ssymphony with my heart’s thrum. You freeze as if spotting a wraiththough it’s only my feelings hanging around you.brushing off their dew drops on to your souljaunting along the street sign pole.playful intent in every silken nudge.Covertly envying the easy familiarityof my palm and your unshaven cheek,of us as the perfectly solved puzzleNo if’s or but’s, no doubtful endshugging as we discover the ‘us’ in the ‘crush’.Yet you look as if stricken hardby the gentle zephyr crossing the pond.I wallow in the memory’s warm slushwhile praying for bilateral, coronary amnesiato soften the blow, to even the score.Wafting away on time’s paper boats, lost in the once-beautiful myth of us,I hear a childish giggle and dreamily turnto see a small face with untold mirthwatching a grown- up hug an elm!"""""""""""-© 2011 ReenaFeatured Review
