Cushioned by our lies... Life doesn't seem harsh
We sing ourselves lullabies in hope of falling onto that eternal sleep... But we never realize who we affect with our pathological lies Combining their hopes with our words... Like the father that never came home to his awaiting child... Abandoned and confused- He swears to not look back... Telling himself that it was never his fathers fault... But his- The son of a filthy liar he prays, That life become better for him... He lies to dull the pain To forget the past And maybe... Someday... His lies beget truth... And it won't hurt anymore... © 2011 Reema.A |
