Remember WhenA Poem by Patrick HopkinsThis poem is for all of the 90s kids who remember a time much safer and different than it is nowRemember when light-up sneakers were cool When Pokémon was life When Blockbuster had only VHS tapes When N64 had amazing graphics I miss those days Remember when gas was only $0.95 When you listened to music on a Walkman When you would play in the McDonald’s playpen When Goosebumps was all you read I miss those days Remember watching Saturday morning cartoons When you watched Doug When you watched Magic School Bus When you watched Wishbone I miss those days Remember when you ate warheads When you could never find Waldo When everything on infomercials was so cool When no one had cell phones I miss those days Remember when scooters were cool When M.A.S.H. notes would predict your future When Furbies was all your sister wanted When Wayside school stories were hilarious I miss those days Remember when Michael Jackson was black and still cool When Nickelodeon was the only channel you watched When Beanie Babies ruled the world When Lego’s were the #1 toy period I miss those days Remember when you really wanted a bunk bed When cooties existed and girls were weird When Santa Claus was real When staying up past 10 was forever I miss those days Remember when there was no such thing as ‘gay’ When looks didn’t matter at all When you didn’t know what drugs were When you were blind to the evil in the world I miss those days
