Book SongA Poem by Reddog19This is a song I wrote for one of the characters in one of my unpublished books.
Ooh,
Ooh, I love you more than the stars and sun. More than the fact that the world is one. Less not than I love the dusty plains, From which that man God created became. Our future together is now decided, To which we will each be the other guided. Close your eyes and let me take you away To a place where pain and sadness have no stay. A place where only love and happiness exists, No duties, deadlines, or to-do lists. Never before has there burned such a love That all the water on earth could not quench enough. I know not the answer, though my heart tells me yes. It says that she's the one that I will love and caress. Three whole years, and we've gotten this far. But I still have one question for your heart. Will you take me as your lover? To have and to hold for you and no other? I know not the answer, though my heart tells me yes. I want you to be the one i love and caress. Close your eyes and let me take you away, To a place where pain and sadness have no stay. A place where only love and happiness exists, No trials, tickets, or to-do lists. So I ask you once more, answer me this: I've loved you forever, and so my question is, My dearest, dearest Elise, Will you do me the honor of marrying me?
