a fortunate turn of events

a fortunate turn of events

A Poem by J. Randall Dodd

a storm approaches from the east. (a strange direction)

the grey that towers above anytown looks

to have mischief on its mind.

the other day i got my palm read by

a gypsy queen; warned me never to trust in fortune.

(truer words have never been spoken)

the wind used to be clear, now it's heavy grey mist;

(a misty foam) mixing with oil  to create

the headwaters of a technicolor river in the parking lot.

i laugh.  the weather man said sunny skies

and a high of eighty-five.  my

horoscope said inspiration would strike. (at least one was right)
