peeling paint

peeling paint

A Poem by J. Randall Dodd

          reveals pleasure's past charm,

warm tone licked virgin wood to blush.

crushed apple-colored peels, speckling loam,

beam in moon’s wining light.

bright shavings, decorticated memories,

veneries to be carried off by breezes.

The imagery in this poem is clever, adroit, and so beautiful. I envy your talent. I particularly enjoyed the second and third lines; these were exceptionally formed. After reading tons of asinine poetry on this site, this was certainly refreshing. Excellent work!
