Chapter One: Alone

Chapter One: Alone

A Chapter by Isabelle Howard

Confusion. That was the first feeling Terri felt. Vast, enormous confusion. She couldn't remember a thing. "What..." She murmurs, rubbing her aching head. She stands up, and opens her eyes-to see nothing. All around was blue sky and yellow ground. Wait. Yellow ground? She bends down to feel it with her fingertips. Sandstone. "Where am I..." The ground was perfectly level-not a hill, not a bump. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Nothing as far as the eye could see. Terri looks around. More nothingness. "This is freaking me out," She whispers to herself. She takes a wary step forward. Nothing. Starting to walk forward, a snippet of memory comes into her thoughts. A flash of an alley at night-somehow she knew it was a shortcut to home, wherever home was-a flash of her putting her hand on her forehead and feeling blood. Then, a flash of strange people in black robes and white masks. Then, nothing. She starts to walk forward, then breaks into a run. "Anyone!" She yells, as loud as she can. "Help! Help me!" She spins, walking backwards, and faces the front. "Anyone! HELP!" She screams. Panting, she stops. "Where...why..." Something catches her eye, ans she spins around to face it.
A house, made of nothing but gray stones.
A house, in the middle of nowhere.
A very, very suspicious house.
She starts to walk towards it.
