Crushed Dreams

Crushed Dreams

A Poem by Isabelle Howard
"

Haven't posted in awhile. I'm sorry! Here's an apology poem.

"
If all my dreams were on a platform
High up in the sky,
You'd stand there.
You'd beckon, and yell "I love you".
And I'd start with a run and spring up, inches away from victory.
You'd grab my hand, and let me hold on to you
Crying into your shoulder.
Never believe what's to good to be true.
You'd take my hand and whisper "trust me" and lead me to the edge
I'd feel free, and beautiful.
I'd turn away from the view and look at you, your smile so charming-
-until a kick to my heart is delivered.
I'd fall...and fall...and fall...
Only to be a mangled, bloody body on the ground.

Nice. Lovely poem. On a pedestal is a good imagery...:)
