A Winter Bird

A friend of mine wrote a poem about winter...I just realized that I enjoy the cold WAY more than the warm. Also some stuff about the mixed feelings I've been having lately.

I'm a winter bird

Nestled in my nest of snow

I'm a winter bird

When the cold winds blow

I'm a winter bird

I'm as happy as happy can be

I'm a winter bird

A winter bird who's lonely.

Nice read and write! Good repetition. For me, I was reminded of how long the winters are here in NY. I start off anticipating the first snowfall, but by April (no joke!) I'm feeling down and longing for spring and summer.

such a gorgeous poem, I loved the repetition. It's short but yet it says so much.
I think if would acutually make a good song if it maybe was a little bit longer, but don't get me wrong it's perfect the way it is.

Winter is beautiufl. Cold, dark, gray and lonely. But, think of the piece, and if one has an imagination, we will survive as winter birds, and do just fine.

You could give this good work more depth if you bothered to learn the names of the winds...the cold easterly to which you are undoubtedly alluding is named the polar continental, I have watched it kill men with whom I went to sea!
