Chapter One-Azalea's Escape

Chapter One-Azalea's Escape

A Chapter by Isabelle Howard
"

Azalea isn't one for big fancy parties-so she decides to ditch the ball thrown in her honor.

"
Young princess Azalea lets out a sigh. "Mom, you know I don't like parties! ESPECIALLY when they're thrown for me!" She says as her mother hems her brand-new dress. "Mom, I'm only turning fifteen! I don't WANT a party where all the guests are adults that I don't even know!" At this, queen Merla looks up. "Well, who would YOU like to invite?" Azalea begins to list off the names of her five best friends. "Primaveira, Inna, Dromeus, Rowley, and Gilpin." When she finishes, the queen lists off all the faults of those friends, "She's too loud, she's too bad of an example for a young lady like you, he's too sneaky, he's too mischievous, and she's too much of a tomboy." "Well what's wrong with having a little FUN???" Azalea yells, and she marches off too her bedroom. "Oh, why do I have to be a princess?!?!?!" She wails at her kitten, Lionheart. "Meow," he replies, and turns over and goes back to sleep. "Good idea, Lionheart," she says, and takes out her bag to start packing.

Why do I have to wear THIS dress? Azalea thinks as she scratches at her corset once again. The ball had been going for about an hour, and she was officially bored. Just then, she notices her mother was distracted. This is the perfect time! She thinks excitedly, and she says to her bodyguard, "I forgot something in my room. I'll be fine, no need to come with me," And she runs off to her quarters. As soon as she walks in her door, she locks it, and slips out of the itchy dress she was made to wear. "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah," she sighs, thankful to be out of it. She slips on leggings, a tunic, and her hunting boots, and soon, she's ready to go; hooking Lionheart's leash on to his collar, she takes him in her arms. Her feet don't dare make her slip as she climbs down the rope ladder she made and slip off into the forest.
