Only Hope

Only Hope

A Poem by Tim Lawless

Perhaps we only know love

Because we're so well acquainted with pain.

In my short time on this earth,

I've learned enough about what it means to hurt,

To know that knowing what I know makes knowing love all the more meaningful.

I'll never claim to understand it all.

It's just another mystery woven into the fabric of life

By a Designer I scarcely know

And can scarcely hope to fully understand.

I do understand this much.

Only pain truly begets love.

The one who is forgiven most loves most.

And love led one Man to more pain than He deserved.

My only hope is only my hope because He loves me.

Not that I will ever understand it.

Really beautiful...this is.

"I do understand this much.
Only pain truly begets love.
The one who is forgiven most loves most.
And love led one Man to more pain than He deserved."

This is really thought provoking and...it does give life a lot more purpose to see things like that!! Thanks you for writing it!
