A Poem by Tim Lawless

Silence.

Nothing but silence.

My pursuit is brought to an abrupt end

By cold, immutable stone,

A frozen heart standing aloof.

I never knew what I was getting myself into.

Now I only wish I knew how to get back into it,

Because the silence on the inside

The wholehearted attempts at half-normal conversations,

Pale beyond comparison to the agonizing silence that now surrounds me.

But I must continue to dwell here

In the silence and the shadow,

And I can only ask,

Did you build these walls?

Or did I?

I agree with these folks.
This is an amazing poem....

And sometimes..
Walls just build themselves.

I love this poem!

"But I must continue to dwell here
In the silence and the shadow,
And I can only ask,
Did you build these walls?
Or did I?"

Great ending ...The poem was filled with emotion and such a feeling of loneliness
Excellent poetry
