Still Here

Still Here

A Poem by Tim Lawless

Here I sit,

Like a thousand other nights,

Just waiting for a sign.

Just waiting for anything,

Just hoping you're alright.

I wish I could just take all the pain away,

But I'm afraid that I'm the cause.

And I hate knowing that the best thing for you,

May mean that I lose you.

I'm sorry it's had to be this way,

And I'm sorry for what I seem to have caused.

And I don't want to lose you,

But to keep you might mean worse.

I just want you to know,

I won't let go,

If you still need me here.

I want to help.

And I don't mind caring.

If you would just let me.

... I am alright. Promise.
And don't go anywhere. I don't want you to leave.

"And I don't want to lose you,
But to keep you might mean worse."

Nothing you do is gonna make this any worse for me. It all depends on me.
