What I've Learned

What I've Learned

A Poem by Tim Lawless

I've come to two conclusions in my short time here on earth.

Life is hard but neverending grace bestows it worth.

I never met a man who I could say was worse than I,

I never met a man who told just half as many lies.

I've done enough to make some mothers warn their daughters all about me,

I've done enough to make the best of friends begin to doubt me.

I've done so much yet learned so little, and I've trusted less than that.

What I've gained is incomp'rable to everything I lack,

I don't know much, but I know this, He has a plan for me,

I complain too much too far too often because I cannot see,

Past my limited views of devotion to hear Him calling me.

Well Tim,
i do believe that you are well on your way to a bright future living in his light. It takes a big man to admit to himself and others the errors of his way. You free yourself with this honesty from the man that you were to allow yourself to be the man intended by God . Wonderful poem , truly wonderful.
