The Calm Inside the Storm

The Calm Inside the Storm

A Poem by Tim Lawless

This life is din and dischord.

It is a raging sea.

But in the clouds, an outstretched arm,

Your voice calls "Follow me."

I know I can trust you,

But faith is a battle fought uphill.

A constant war between common sense,

And the desire to do your will.

The waves are crashing all around.

It seems that hope is dying,

Creation shudders at the sound,

The howling wind now crying.

In all life's storms, I have found peace,

Where fear is overcome by grace.

And now the voice that calmed the seas,

Only asks for a step of faith.

... *left speechless*

The more of your poetry I read, the more entraced I become.
It is amazing to see someone's faith spread out in a poem before me, not only because you explain it with such passion and with perfect symbolism, but also because you are explaining things I have felt but never know how to explain myself.

I hope you keep posting more poetry.
Because I adore it.
