The Election's Effect on the Environment

The Climate Crisis will be deeply impacted by the new regime in Washington.

The climate deniers are now taking power in the capital.  The new prez wants to drill for more oil, cut the EPA and kill all subsidies for electric vehicles.  They will not do anything to promote renewable energy. If fact just the opposite. The conservatives will increase the use of fossil fuels and escalate carbon dioxide emissions. This will have a big effect on the climate! Increasing the output of greenhouse gasses in the next five to ten years will result in more violent weather events.

       Within the next decade, more communities will be hit by more natural disasters.  Many people will die, lose family members, homes and businesses will be destroyed. Coastal cities will be underwater due to rising sea levels.

       We are not talking about later in the century. This has already started happening and will get worse each subsequent year. Into the next decade, just a few years from now, many places could become unlivable.  In the U.S. and North American there might be thousands of refugees. As people move to less affected areas in the country, the infrastructure will not be able to support such an influx of so many desperate individuals. Eventually many services, like healthcare, education, law and order and governments could all break down and collapse.  

       Global warming is real! It is not a hoax. This is a scientific fact. And the warming of the planet is caused by people burning fossil fuels.  It may already be too late to avoid the devastation resulting from the changing climate. And with the new people in charge in Washington, we might not stand a chance.

Where are you located?
You're right. This winter here in parts of the U.S. has been very cold and harsh. But Global Warming does also cause extremes of heat and cold both ways. And even heavy snow storms can also be attributed to the Climate Crisis. Thank you for the comment.

Sure. Everything is a proof of climate change (new name for Global Warming but is a more convenient one).
No, it's not getting extreme here --- summer is getting slightly less hot than the past, for 3 years in a row.
No doubt that's also proof of climate change, like Everything else.

I prefer the term Global Warming. Climate Change is too polite. World wide the past year was the warmest on record. It is real. The vast majority of Scientists believe it is caused by burning fossil fuels. The proof is in the all the natural disasters that are occurring in so many places around the planet.
