Worm upon tongue

Worm upon tongue

A Poem by Melissa
"

enjoying the small things

"

This morning's fog,
heavy with attitude-
blanketed shapeless silhouettes.

Yet, it couldn't
hold back nature's songs.

I knew lush lawns
hide within,
and upon them
Robin's would be dancing
a Lindy.

Just as the heat of coffee
wooed my tongue, a
Robin broke through the fog
worm upon its tongue,
and I smiled.

I could picture it in my head... :) I really like this poem, it shows how much nature can bring about a change in us, no matter how small... Great work. ^_^

such a gentle poem with a strong lesson. Love the image of a robin on a green lawn doing a "Lindy"

Enjoying the little things...I like that. "Just as the heat of coffee/wooed my tongue"--I really love this idea. Too often we get caught up in the big things of the world (the global, heavy things) that we forget to give praise to that which is small and beautiful. Well written piece.

What a great combination of light and dark imagery. And I love how you speak about the fog as if its a person...with attitude. Great piece.
