Rebirth

Rebirth

A Poem by Mandy Moore

The words left unsaid echo in volumes through this empty home

where our souls and thoughts are left alone

A scream; it is barely heard through the echoes

and a whisper lasts forever

"I could never..."

echoes

echoes

echoes

echoes

through this empyt house

I stand alone

My castles are falling

and I emerge from this wreckage as a butterfly from a cocoon

though my cocoon be a broken heart and crumbled stone walls

As i look at the world anew

I realize

I am raw

bleeding

and bruised

and I

have never

felt

less

used
