Indiana Jones Couldnt Steal The Gem I Guard (Youre In Good Hands)

Indiana Jones Couldnt Steal The Gem I Guard (Youre In Good Hands)

A Poem by Mandy Moore

If you feel the time is now

To sever all your ties

And you turn all the lights off on the inside

You lock the door and hide the key

To a better time

I will wait for your return

I'll guard your home

Keep it safe from intruders

And I'll keep the light on

So you can find your way home

I'll braid the frays from the last knot you made

As long as you return to me

In the glove compartment

I find the pictures of

Our trip to the coast

But I didn't them

To remember what I recall the most

The light shining off your hair

Encompassed you in a sunny glare

And it seemed that the heavens were illuminating you

And on the day that we had left

The ocean breeze and the salty air

Played a song for us

Requesting our presence

Forever more

But you said the time had come

And the coast was a loaded gun

That the open road

Was where we called home

You made a clean cut of our ties

And turned off the lights inside

You boarded up the door and threw away the key

Promising me a better life

I will guard your heart

Keep it from breaking

And I'll keep the light off

We can see all the stars

I'll weave us a new rope, which can hold no ties

As long as we stay the way we are
