Alone In The Dark (Nightlights Can't Help You Here)

Alone In The Dark (Nightlights Can't Help You Here)

A Poem by Mandy Moore

It's true

I've been told

That we all die alone

Can't bring

Anything

With me

I've waited so long

To call you my love

Just to wait for you once I'm gone

You were there

For the temporar-y

Can't cross over

With me into

Eternity

I've waited so long

To call you my love

Just to wait for you once I'm gone

And in the darkest of nights

You couldn't shine through

The only break of light

Shone from me

And I knew

That though I loved you dear

This wasn't permanent

And though I fear

Being alone when I go

I've been alone the whole time

I just didn't know
