Chapter 1A Chapter by RebeccaThe universe's 1st law "Ask and it is given" is supposed to keep a fair balance between good and evil on Planet Earth. But neighbouring planets Venus and Mars are at battle for dominance.Chapter 1 The sun's beams and I danced to the tune, with the blue sky as our dance floor. I closed my eyes and slowly let Earth's gravity sway me down to London city. The clouds appeared darker, heavier and smog filled the air above the city. Every time I came to London, it was grey and dreary. The ravenous towers and tall buildings stole the energy from the sky and this triggered a lot of misery in the humans down below. I would wonder: How do they manage to breathe? I felt suffocated, and as an angel we travelled on the astral plane, where oxygen was not even necessary. The sun was beginning to set and my mood darkened. As I entered the atmosphere, I could hear in the distance the traffic and the noisy crowds. The people's frowns took over the remaining energy, due to over crowdedness. Their robotic auras made them seem soulless, as they followed their repetitive routines. Being an angel I am invisible to humans, so I perched myself on top of a building around some built up square. With birds eye view, I searched a dirty alley way directly below. My sense of premonition, (which was sometimes a miss) told me that a woman nearby would need my help in a few moments or so. I patiently persisted to wait, until I heard those sweet innocent cries of help, to excite my spirit. The 1st law of the universe, (I could not help but break) 'Ask and you shall receive' meant we were not permitted to interfere with free will, danger or wish, unless first asked. Darkness grew eerily over the street, "Zizz, zizz," I heard the street lights struggle, they flickered on, one, by one. Then I saw her, the nervous business woman and her body jolted by the noise of them. The woman held her hand over her chest in fright. Then she finally caught her breath. She rolled her eyes and gave herself a silly smirk, she appeared controlled but she did not mislead me. For I had a unique power, to see the hidden colours of a humans aura, and she was dark with fear and cloudy in thought. I listened to her heels, "Click-clack," across the scummy pavement. As I was able to read humans minds, I empathized with her anxious inner voice: "I wish I hadn't took a short cut, but these heels are so hard to walk in." Then strangely she felt a presence behind her. Daringly she peered over her shoulder. As she feared, she was being followed, by a tall, daunting, dark, figure. Her heart thudded out of rhythm. Her breath fell short. Sweat dripped down her cosmetic forehead. The figure stared, focused on her and like a predator the stalker hunted its prey. Instinct called to her feet, "Pick up the pace." But as she did, the pavement became uneven, she panicked and almost tripped up. The figure passed under one of the street lamps, and revealed its true sight in the light; a crook, with terrifying deep scars over his face. White bloody tape was stuck to his long purple broken nose, from a previous encounter. I began to get angry, Luna angry. (Believe me I was not all fluttery wings and peaceful halos) I growled at him, as this man clearly had not learnt from his mistakes. However, I was still searching for the real culprit, so I sent some calm energy to the street to steady the woman. She faced forward, like she was on a business venture, determined to find someone to bump into and divert the man. The anxious business woman knew she had made a massive mistake. She swore to herself, "I will never take a short cut again!" With no one ahead of her, she turned her head with worry. She was desperate now, and searched in another direction. But the disturbed man seized the opportunity! He darted towards her. Grabbed her from behind. His rough cut up hand covered her mouth. He put a sharp blade against her backside and whispered nastily, "Walk down that alley way if you want to live." Unable to think of a quick escape, mascara tears ran down her face. She surrendered and mumbled, a muffled, "okay." Little did the man know, I was observing and there was no chance he would act out his next steps. Then I spotted it. What I was looking for. A devious demon. Behind every ungodly act of a human being, a demon was lurking in the shade, using invisible waves of dark magic, influencing the powers of evil and suffering. This demon hid very well under a glossy black, hooded cloak. Its hazy red body seemed to hoover, like the smoky essence from an incense stick. A sparky red and yellow electric current escaped the demons illusive hairy hands. I caught a glimpse of its malicious goat like face, but it was its garbage scent that was worst of all. It then shape shifted, grew large worn horns that poked out of its hood. It formed half rotten hoofs and stood up right, which grew the demon taller. Excitedly, one of its hoofs started to thump on the floor. Suddenly, it looked up at me with the glow of Lucifer! Its eyes fiercely burned a frightful yellow. A deep creepy laugh blasted my ears, as it mocked my appearance. I was a mysterious white hazy glow, with a delicate female face, blue penetrative oval eyes and finally long golden hair. I also presented myself with a theoretical human body and wore an illusionary metallic robe. I may have appeared delicate, but I was convinced I was the most powerful creature in the universe. Oh and I was not shy about proving it. The demon dominated his puppet. Its red yellow electricity forced the man to pin the woman up against the wall. She flinched her eyes, "Please don't hurt me," she cried. "Give me that you b***h!" He yelled, as he forced her handbag out of her hands. Then disgustingly he spat at her. The man rummaged through her bag, and pulled out a clean crisp envelope marked 'deposit'. "This will do nicely, my love," He smarmily croaked as he marked the envelope with his scummy fingerprints. This criminal was no regular thief, he was sadistic. Money was not going to be enough, for I had sensed a deep rooted hidden agenda; Envy to the upper class. So he tormented her, as he pretended to cut the knife across her cheek. She gulped and closed her eyes. I was not prepared to let this this woman be harmed, even if she never asked me for help. Screw the laws of the universe and balance! (Laws + Luna = Anarchy) I grinned at the demon and I cunningly undid my metallic robe. The demon gawked surprised. I shone out multi-coloured beams from my center. My face blew winds of compassion for the woman. The demon howled, "Raaaaaaaaah!" I was uncontrollably furious. Without thought I threw some green energy at it. I burnt one of its hairy hands. Then it crumbled into stone. With its unharmed hand he threw some red power back at me! I flew into the sky with a backward tumble. "Argghh!" I yelled angrily. I flew back. But it was too late the demon made his last move. The man licked his bacteria infested lips, "Lucky for you- I don't have it in me - to cut up that pretty face of yours," He creepily informed her. Then he struck. "Aaaaaahh!" He stabbed her in the stomach. The women screamed as the blood gushed out of her. With speed, I used my telekinesis powers and lifted the man into the air. I threw him out onto the street. She fell to the cold dirty ground, and held her stomach in agony. The confused now frightened man scuffled onto his feet and darted in a panic down the street. As he wondered how he could have possibly levitated. I caught an unwelcomed glimpse, as the woman hastily pulled the knife out of her bloody wound. "Aaaaaahh!" She yelled in more pain. The demon left his final taunt with another creepy laugh and shifted away like diffused smoke, into invisible darkness. I softly flew down to the woman, touched her wound and sent her some golden rays of angelic healing to calm her nerves. The woman let out a painful, somewhat relieved sigh and moved her focus to her belongings. She picked up her phone, and with a struggle dialed 999. I listened, regrettably, as she cried hysterically down the phone. I could not bring myself to look at her face. My healing was done, and the women felt a little calmer. I sent a telepathic message to other angels out on the field, to help speed the ambulance. I had already done more, than I was destined to do. With a flash of my powers, I conjured open a weird wormhole which rippled squiggly silvery lines. I took one last look at the woman, upset with myself over the incident, and I shook my head shamefully. I thought: If I just waited for her to ask for help, she may have come away unharmed. The laws of the universe were set for balance and I let my pride win. But I wanted to win, angels were supposed to win, so I thought. Secretly, I think I may have enjoyed self-inflicting blame on myself. It gave me a sense of control, over the suffering on Earth. Because the truth about me, was a whole lot worse, than me interfering with the laws of the universe. With a deep sigh, I was sucked into the wormhole and awaited the consequences yet again, back on Venus. © 2018 Rebecca |
