MonstersA Poem by Brianna Van ZandtIt was a stupid thing I did because I was trying to ignore a school assembly so I wouldn't cry.. It's s**t, to me, but you can decide.. I wasn't even gonna post it....Monsters Sharp, pointed horns, Gnashing teeth, Glowing eyes And claws like blades. These are the monsters in a child’s nightmares. Broken hearts and spirits, Wounded minds and bodies. A man with a gun, And
nothing left to lose. A man, stalking and waiting with the darkest intentions, These are the monsters in our daily lives. Monsters are everywhere, In our lives And in our minds. But a child’s monsters Can be fought off by a little teddy bear. What can fight the monsters That haunt us every day? © 2013 Brianna Van ZandtAuthor's Note
