Without

Without

A Poem by Rebecca J Martin

To bleed without blood,
To cry without tears.
To forget all my woes,
And hide all my fears.

To breathe without breath,
To gasp without air.
To know where I’m going,
To have life be fair.

To feel without touch,
To hurt without pain.
To turn life around,
And not go insane.

Now, wouldn’t that be,
The greatest accomplishment of all?
To know without knowing,
And to fail without fall.

Isn’t life just the grandest?
Isn’t it just fine?
To live forever in bliss,
Ne’er having to whine!

This really does just define all the worries and woes of the world. The greatest things in life can also be the worst.

I like that. "If I didn't feel pain, I wouldn't know I was alive"
a see-saw effect---the ying and the yang...

we might get punched in life, but if we just spring back up...we will show we mean business..."to feel without touch"...i really like that phrase...and a long time ago, i realized i need to be grateful for what i have, not whine about what i don't---

Somehow I believe in your belief that life can be without worry, no matter what a cesspool of tragedy and regret life might bring, it indeed is the grandest darn thing we could ever imagine. Hence we go on living because subconsciously we know and we're so attached to being alive that sometimes we forget how to live. So let's be without worry and here's to a beautiful poem penned by you!
