My Heart

Forever in a heartbeat,

Forever in a dream,

Forever I’ll love you,

My heart beats upstream.

The day that I knew,

You were more than my friend,

Was the day that I found out,

My heart would ascend.

Like a bee that goes buzz,

Like a rose that perfumes,

Like a bird that flies high,

Like a tulip that blooms.

Never did I know,

Never would I be,

Never like forever,

Would my soul be free.

Rainbows and butterflies,

The warmth of the sun,

Forever and wonderful,

My heart can be won.

Upon a pedestal,

Up in the sky,

Up and away,

Let my heart soar high.

To sing of such magic! This was wonderful. Romance at its finest. After reading this, one couldn't deny the twinge in their heart nor fight the awe shining in their eyes. It make one hopeful for a love like this to brighten their dreary days and pick them up when they're at their lowest. I'm a romantic at heart, so this definitely spoke to me. Great read.

OH btw.... u prob. guessed this already (or somewhere close hee hee).. I wrote this to the man of my dreams (and into reality!)... After 46 years of kissing the few frongs I have... I finally found my true prince! Crazy how life can turn around in a heart beat! The guy i was supposed to marry over 2 years ago shattered my heart in ways a person would never want to dream of (put it this way... the 18 year old apparently was more exciting for him :P !). Had it NOT been for him having this affair for over 6 months... I may of never had a chance to get close to my friend then.. and now my Prince... so... this poem is about my ONE true and hopeless love for him!!!

Oh-MY, Dear Rebecca!
How wonderful to know you DO write poems, too, and what a sweetly luring love poem it is to touch the depths of my heart with … you included, emotion, affection, hopes, dreams, feelings, promise, etc; and, entwined it all with lovely ribbons of Nature flowing all thorough.
This is sheer poetic harmony from a woman knows what true love looks and feels like, and you swept me right up into your heart.
Beautiful, Rebecca, and the only hint of helpful critique I might offer is to single space your lines in each verse … other than that, I gift you five golden stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
