So Be ItA Poem by RebeccaIf only my heart could beat in my home Do my wrists have to bleed for you to know I'm alone? While you say I'm the greatest thing that happened, I say what are the chances that we met in that fashion? You could take every sample and average or mu But it's simple, I'm giving you a chance because I don't regret you. Not the summer nights pushed by wind on the lake, Not even your dusty touch that broke my ribs and pierced through my heartache. You're the one I think of when I'm holding his hand in my favorite diamond earrings And one day, when I stand in front of our judge, the Lord's hearings Do you know what I'll say? I wouldn't have had life any other way The heavens don't hate, they test. Don't cuss the stars, they'll take care of the rest Think of the memories, didn't we have a good run? But it isn't even the end, it's only just begun We got a whole life of loving ahead And I'll love others too, but never instead. So I guess all I ask is that when you get the chance Take my hand so I don’t feel lost in this expanse. Make yourself into my home So that I can breathe and feel so far from alone. Whatever our name, we're a perfect fit So when you leave again I'll look from you, to God, and back And say so be it.
