Who Are You?

I had this really weird thought about how everyone writes about a "You". No one ever knows who they are, but we always name them as "You". So I wrote something about "You".

Whoever you are,
I write about you often.
You never have a name,
but I know you must be someone.

I'm sure you know that you're different for everyone.
You're brought up in so many writings, in so many stories,
everyone seems to know you.
Of course they do, you're you.

What makes you you?
You're expressed in so many ways.
You do so many things.
You're so complex and detailed.

You seem to be important to a lot of people.
They always talk about how extraordinary you are to them.
But then again, you let a lot of people down too.
You do many things, don't you?

So who are you?
And why are we all so fascinated by you?
Are you really there?
Of course you are, you're you.

People do write about that faceless person, or do they? A person without a face, but has a body? Interesting concept. Might be intriguing to reveal a little bit about the mystery. Perhaps a significant gesture? A tone of voice? these are just thoughts. I like the concept.
