Not AshamedA Poem by Beckie DThe accepting goodbye to a very old friend.
I'm not ashamed to say that you were once my friend
I'm not ashamed to admit that I treasured you No matter how much time that I had to wait There was innocence in the madness Most of it was bad but there was some good in it too There was music in your voice A serious meaning to your laughter I knew that it would never last But it meant a lot more than what it looks like So what? we were not together I don't lie and say we were But to say it was only friendship is just absurd I don't think we'll ever see each other again I think we are separated now into forever I don't think that's really such a bad thing When you think about each piece of this big puzzle When you think how it all looks when you put it all together Just don't blame me if I still think about you sometimes The music in your voice and just the fact that we were friends Feelings like those of which we shared, they never truly end... ...But I accepted long ago, the truth I accepted long ago, our fate So, thanks for being my friend Because I am not ashamed.
