Far Away but in my heart

A poem for a loved one lost.

You walked up to me, smiling

and ever so softly touched my hand.

You told me everything would be fine

and kissed me gently on the cheek.

You begin to fade away again

as I gain my consciousness once more

Waking up now, I shed a tear

Knowing deep down it was just a dream

You are so very far away now

eternally sleeping but always alive in my heart
