second Imagine Fred (Harry Potter fanfic)

second Imagine Fred (Harry Potter fanfic)

A Story by Beck Louise

You couldn't believe it. No way was this happening. With her! You had only just broken up last week, and he was taking her! You tried ignoring him as you wandered carelessly into the great hall, holding Lee's arm tightly. You had only asked Lee to go to the Yule ball as a friend, but you felt sure he had other ideas. You didn't mean to lead him on, it wasn't your fault you didn't feel that way about him, and you doubted Fred would be happy if he found out anyway. You had been nice about the whole situation. You hadn't wanted to annoy or hurt Fred. You felt stupid for doing this now, as Angelina flicked her hair, smiling at him, "Like a s**t" You thought. If there was anyone that made your blood boil it was Angelina Johnson. She'd had her nasty little eyes on Fred for years. Well she couldn't have him, he was yours. Your heart sank as you remembered. He wasn't yours anymore. Your mind wandered dangerously over the possibilities of the night ahead, causing your stomach to twist nauseatingly. The champions were entering now, but you couldn't tear your eyes away from him. You studied his face, his expressions would give him away, you could always tell if he was really happy by the way he smiled. Lee pulled on your arm
"Are you okay?" he looked grave
"Yeah, fine" You faked a smile and he nodded, not convinced. When you looked back around, Fred had disappeared into the crowd of couples joining the dance floor. "Oh no" You had forgotten about the dancing. All your practising had been with Fred, Lee was at least an inch shorter than you, and you were pretty sure he wasn't strong enough to lift you in the air, not like Fred could. Looking back to those nights spent practising made your throat swell. He would throw you about with such ease, laughing as you squealed.
"Come on" Lee pulled you harder and you moved, with reluctance onto the dance floor. He pulled you up into the air, but you screwed your face up, scared to even look. You messed most of the dance up because of his two left feet and your nervousness. Your face burned red as you caught a glimpse of Fred, watching you. You turned away and laughed for the first time, trying to turn it all into a big joke, but Lee just looked at you, as if you were crazy for laughing at this utter embarrassment. When the dance was finished you sat down, trying your best to avoid Fred.
"You don't really wanna be here with me do you?" Lee looked deflated and you felt a pang of guilt flood through you.
"Lee, I thought you understood when I asked you here, it was just as a friend" You tried to explain this as gently as possible.
"It's because of Fred isn't it, you still love him, I can tell" He looked at his shoes, almost sadly
"Yeah" You admitted, but you didn't pain him anymore by talking about it. You looked back up, only to see the very thing you had hoped you wouldn't. He was kissing her. You could now relate to how Lee felt slightly as you felt your heart sink to the bottom of your stomach.
"I'm sorry, I have to go" You turned, tears falling fast.
You sat outside on the snowy step, not even caring about your dress anymore.
"ahem" You jumped slightly at this noise behind you, and you turned to see Fred walking slowly up to you. You turned away to wipe away your tears. There was no way he could see you crying, not over him.
"Go away" You couldn't hide the stuffiness of your voice, it was a dead give away.
"What's wrong?"
"Like you give a s**t" You didn't want him being nice to you, not after what he'd just done.
"Of course I do" He said this so matter of factly before sitting down next to you, which prompted you to stand up, your anger only rising with his kindness. He was so patronising.
"So that's why you were sucking face with that slag in there!" He looked away.
"Yeah, don't come over here, trying to be nice after doing that!" You were starting to cry again. D****t. These were tears of anger more than sadness though.
"She kissed me" he mumbled
"What?" You were so shocked he was even using this excuse that your voice hardly permitted you to say this.
"She kissed me, I'm not saying that's an excuse I didn't stop it, but I didn't want it to happen either"
"Oh really?" She rolled your eyes in frustration
"Yes, really! It's you I love! You! And it always will be! It doesn't matter what's happened tonight, or last week or any other time we've had a stupid fight. It's you I want, only you and all of you, forever." He looked at you firmly, and you knew then, he wasn't lying.
"You are such an Jackass!" you yelled this, running forward into his arms, kissing him with such passion, letting out all the frustration in one amazing kiss. That was the kiss that sealed it all. After that you knew there was only ever going to be one boy for you.
