It was all a mass of confusion and destruction. All around was fighting and rubble. The death eaters were throwing curses at anyone they saw passing. Not one person was safe. You ran quickly up the stairs, having to turn every few seconds to curse a death eater behind you. You couldn't take it any more, the thought that Fred might not be okay. The thought that someone could be hurting him. Your eyes stung with tears. You were breathing heavy and the lump in your throat from crying made it painful to breathe at all. You heaved at your lungs in frustration, wheezing horribly. You had to keep going though, if you stopped, you were almost certain you would be killed. You moved faster and faster, not caring how much your legs hurt. Turning quickly into any the corridor, you could run freely now. You threw one final curse at the death eater, and he fell to the floor, lifeless and pale. You had to compose yourself. No matter who it was, you had never been comfortable killing people, you felt shameful and evil. You moved now faster to get away from the body. Your stomach began to hurt as you heard the sound of mass destruction in the next corridor. You reached the tapestry which marked the entrance to the room of requirements and saw Fred and Percy, fighting alongside one another. You smiled to yourself at seeing them together. You quickly wiped it away though, realising you were in the middle of a war zone. You fled forward, keeping your eyes solely on Fred. As the death eater went down, dead, you ran faster
"Fred!" You yelled out, and he turned, startled.
"What the hell are you doing here?" He was trying to be angry, but his happiness to see you alive and well, couldn't be concealed. He went to talk but you held your hand up to signal his silence, there was no time.
"I have to tell you this" You smirked slightly in spite of the next sentence "Since I might not have another chance after tonight" He raised his eyebrows expectantly. You expected to be nervous but you weren't.
"I Love you, I love you so much, I always have and if I'm honest, I think I always will" He stood there for a moment, his mouth slightly open, at a loss for any words to say to you
"Oh god please say something" You said, the nerves kicking in now. He mumbled slightly, something you were sure was more of a noise than any actual words.
"I...I Love you too" he moved forward
"Always have." He smiled "Always will" He cupped your face gently and kissed you. your first kiss with Fred. It was unreal and unlike anything else. You knew that you would never have a kiss like this again. You savoured it and imprinted it on your brain like a photograph of a perfect moment. When he broke the kiss, you saw over his shoulder that Percy was smiling too, a proud smile, for the first time in so long.
His smile faded too quickly. He began to yell and suddenly, Fred grabbed your shoulders and you were thrown to the floor at the side of him. When you finally got to your feet, the sight in front of you made your chest pain you incredibly.
"No." You could barely even speak. Your voice was cracking and the tears were back in your eyes again.
"NO!" You screamed out, the pain worsening significantly. You got up, but your legs were shaking so much that you fell back down again, forcing yourself to crawl over to where you had but two minutes ago been standing. Your hands shook so much now, that it was difficult to even lift them up.
Fred's body lay lifeless and cold in front of you. His mouth still crooked from the smile he had given to you. Percy stoked his hair affectionately, tears streaming down his cheeks.
"Fred?" You choked "This isn't funny" You shook him slightly "Stop it Fred!" You started to shake him more now "Fred!" you couldn't even breathe now from crying so much, you heard someone shout about more death eaters coming but you didn't care. You just held his hand, crying into his still chest. You felt someone grab your waist, it was Lupin.
"Come on" He pulled you, trying to be gentle and kind, needing to get you away. You were far too emotional to fight anyone right now. But you didn't want to leave him. You flung your arms about, trying to put your weight down so he couldn't move you. He just pulled you harder.
"No! Fred! Wake up! Wake up!" You reached a hand out, hoping he would wake up and grab it, but he didn't. You just watched his lifeless body fade into the distance as you were pulled away, screaming. You hadn't lied. You would always love him, and you did. When you had grown grey and old, you still kept that picture of him, so young and full of life. You sometimes forgot that you weren't that young any more. You would catch a glimpse in the mirror and begin to cry. He felt to far away now. And when you breathed your last breath, it was Fred Weasley who was the last thought to ever cross your mind. From the moment you met him, to your very last moment, you loved him with every piece of you.

I've never read the books but I did see all the movies and I am a fan! not one of the really out there type of fans but I do enjoy the movies. This was an excellent take from a different view featuring one of the minor characters in the harry potter pieces and I loved it. I must admit, I was mad that Fred died! come on! I don't like sad endings, but this one was tolerable :). Awesome perspective and great work on a different view of a harry potter take. :D

Fred and George were always some of my favorite characters.

I just found this and read it, and now I am almost in tears! It's nice to read these imagines. Makes me feel like Harry Potter isn't completely over. :')
