It
was a sunny saturday morning in September. You walk through the great
hall and go to sit next to your cousin Seamus. "Alright" he
doesn't even look up from his cereal
"Hi"
You reply, grabbing some toast, and beginning to butter it.
"Is
that an Arsenal top?" Dean Thomas was squinting at your red and
white top, just hidden by your hoodie.
"Yeah,
it is" You challenge him slighty to say anything about it.
"Oh"
He seemed to just drop it then and went back to his breakfast.
"Tell
me, how is it, supporting the second best London team?" He
smirks now, and you look up, kicking yourself for not seeing this
coming.
"I
don't know, you tell me, I don't support West Ham"
"oh
ouch, that one really hurt!" he holds his chest, faking a wound.
You both laugh.
"We
all know the hammers could beat you lot any time"
"Us
lot?" You widen your eyes in pretend shock
"Well
we'll see the next time you're at the emirates" You say, with a
smug look.
"Will
you two shut up about football please, Man U are obviously the best
anyway" You both look round at Seamus, who, seeing the looks of
disgust, quickly goes back to his cereal.
On
walking out of the great hall you hear rapid footsteps behind you,
you hear someone shout you and turn around almost too quickly,
cracking your neck.
Dean
is breathing heavily, walking up to you
"hey,
listen, do you fancy going with meeting up later in Hogsmeade?"
Your stomach lurches slightly in excitement at the thought, you agree
to it, quickly, as your knees have started shaking and you think you
might be sick. Dean Thomas was one of the nicest looking people in
his year, you couldn't believe your luck. Your heart fluttered all
the way to Hogsmeade, your stomach in masses of butterflies. You were
meeting Dean outside the three broomsticks at 3pm. As the time drew
closer you started to think more about your cousin. Would Seamus be
comfortable with you seeing his best friend? The more you thought
about it, the less butterflies there were, you started to feel
completely deflated, and by the time it got to 2:45, you were
debating with yourself as to whether you should even go or not.
Convincing yourself you should at least go and tell him you couldn't
meet with him, you made for the three broomsticks. You saw him
standing, his hands in his pockets, leaning casually against the
wall.
"Hello
again" He smiled and you had to swallow hard because the
butterflies were about to carry you away there were so many.
"Hey,
listen, I don't know if this is a good idea" His smile faded
fast
"Why?"
he suddenly sounded like a lost child and you were surprised to hear
him sound so vulnerable
"It's
just, I don't know how Seamus would feel if he knew" his
expression softened at this and he moved forward. You were surprised
when he put his hands gently on your face.
"Listen,
it doesn't matter what Seamus says, I really like you, I have done
for a while now"
"What?
Seriously" You couldn't help your look of complete shock.
"I'm
surprised you didn't notice" he smirked, and then he kissed you.
You could have died and gone to heaven it was so perfect. He was so
perfect. It was just the most perfect moment and there was no one you
would rather have had it with.
