Draco
bit his lip firmly, focusing his vision back on Professor Snape. He
had never felt an urge so strong, to turn his head, just to glance at
you for one more second. He hated it. It made him so angry how you
could do this to him. It was part of his image to be cold, unloving,
uncaring towards anyone or anything, but he couldn't help it, you
made him crazy. The bell rang, and he bolted from the classroom, not
stopping to risk catching your eye. He threw his bag down on his bed
before doing the same with himself. He scrunched up his face. "How
can I like her? A Gryffindor! To feel this for any girl was
embarrassing, but for it to be a Gryffindor!" He shuddered to
himself.
At
dinner, he hardly ate, his stomach wasn't settled enough to add food
to the mix. He sat, resting his head grumpily on his hand, a stern
look painted on his pale face. It seemed as if everyone around him
was in unnecessarily loud conversation. His head hurt. He stood up,
and without a word to anyone, left the great hall and proceeded to
the dungeons to the Slytherin common room.
"Mr
Malfoy! Pay attention!" He snarled at McGonagall.
You
looked round at him after this sudden outburst in the middle of the
lesson. He noticed your gaze and held it. You didn't know why but
there was something in his eye, the usual coldness had gone and he
held your gaze with an almost warmness. You took a risk and flashed
him a friendly smile. You nearly regretted this until you saw a small
half smile flicker on his soft lips. You turned away, stomach turning
wildly. You could feel his eyes still on you, even when you turned
away, he didn't break his gaze. He was captivated by you, your eyes,
your hair, your lightly glossed lips, it was all too much for him. He
could feel a light sweat forming on his brow, he wiped it away
quickly, not wanting to let anyway see him so weak. He felt a lump
forming in his throat, he swallowed hard, trying to push past it. The
bell rang and he tried to run from class again, but Professor
McGonagall stopped him. "If I could have a word Mr Malfoy"
He rolled his eyes and sighed in frustration before skulking back
towards the front of the classroom, as everyone else hurried past
him. "Sit" She pointed to the chair next to her desk. He
slumped down, looking more frustrated than ever. "Now, Mr
Malfoy, I don't know what it is that's causing such a distraction to
you, but I suggest the next time you enter my classroom, you leave
your personal issues at the door, I have no time for students who
refuse to pay attention in my class. Detention, Six O'clock, My
office. Off you go" He stormed from the classroom, not even
bothering to argue. He couldn't possibly tell her that the reason why
he refused to pay attention was because of the girl who he simply
could not get out of his head. His stomach twisted angrily, he
skipped dinner completely and headed to detention at six. "I
hope next time you can keep your attention on the class in hand,
otherwise I'm afraid you will fail your O.W.L's with distinction"
He screwed his face up at McGonagall, not even wanting to comment. He
left in a flurry of anger, more at himself than Mcgonagall. He wished
so bad that he could control his emotions better. "How dare she
speak to me like that! My father will be hearing about this, stupid
old bat" He felt a sharp pain in his shoulder and then he hit
the ground hard. He hadn't been looking where he was going and he'd
banged into you. You sat there on the floor, not really knowing what
to do, you just blinked at him absently. You were almost scared of
how he would react, but he just sat there with the same absent look,
blinking back at you. Then something cut through the air and you both
shook yourselves, getting to your feet.
"You
should watch where you're going you know" The aggression in his
voice took you by surprise and you widened your eyes, taken
aback.
"Right"
You turned on your heels in annoyance. You hated how he blew hot and
cold constantly. One minute he would be smiling fondly at you and the
next he was treating you like s**t again, as if he was suffering from
a split personality.
"Wait,
no, I'm sorry" He grabbed your arm to stop you from leaving but
in your annoyance you yanked it away.
"You
can't be like that you know! You're messing me around, one minute
you're nice and the next you're cold and nasty, pick one!" As a
group of students pass the end of the hall, he pulls you behind a
pillar. He's right in your face now, holding your arms firmly.
"You
don't understand" He almost whispers this
"You
have this effect on me. I can't control it" He sounded in pain,
like he was forcing this out against his own will.
"I've
tried so hard, but I'm not strong enough, I can't stay away from you
any more" He pushes his nose against yours, his warm breath on
your face. You breathe hard, your heart racing now. He presses his
lips against yours, his hands tangling themselves in your hair. He's
kissing you more aggressively now, and your hands fall over his
shoulder, your hands scrunching his shirt passionately. Someone
clears their throat and you both jump apart. Professor Snape stands
there, arms folded.
"Now
am I to understand that you think that this is appropriate behaviour
from fifth year students?" He looks mostly at Draco, who looks
to the floor, shaking his head weakly.
"Detention,
for both of you, tomorrow night. You will both be in the dungeons at
6pm sharp or face the consequences, now back to your dormitories,
immediately" you both turn and walk in different directions,
both smiling to yourselves all the way back.
The
great hall was filled with green, red and gold. The giant Christmas
tree stood proud at end of the hall. There were a good deal less
people than usual as most people had went home to spend the holidays
with their families. You sat at the Gryffindor table, watching the
people buzz around you with excitement. As you got to your feet, you
caught Draco's eye. Your heart thumped wildly. You hadn't seen him
since that heated moment in the corridor and the detention that
followed, where you hadn't been allowed to speak to each other. His
eyes followed you as you left the great hall, he got up quickly,
following you. You felt a hand pull you behind a pillar and suddenly
you were face to face with Draco again. He smiled a sinister smile at
you, looking you up and down.
"I
got the feeling you were avoiding me" You say, more coldly than
intended, remembering how you haven't spoke in so long
"Scared
your friends might find out?" You raise an eyebrow, teasing
him.
"No"
He says, firmly, trying to sound as rebellious as possible. You
laugh, refusing to accept this. He leans forward and kisses you
strongly. He takes your hand then, pressing his finger to his lips,
signalling your silence. He pulls you in the direction of the
dungeons. You don't really know how, but you make it to his dorm and
luckily there's no one there. He gives you that sinister smile again
and pulls you down onto his bed, falling on top of you. He kisses you
fiercely. You feel his heart beating faster than ever and yours beats
in unison. He moves down to kiss your neck and you bite your lip,
closing your eyes tightly. His hands move under your shirt, pulling
it off over your head. His shirt and trousers end up on the floor
along with your skirt, and soon after, both your underwear. After
it's finished you both lie down, breathless and sweaty. He pulls you
onto his chest, his heart beat finally slowing down to a steady pace.
You both fall into a contented sleep, safe in each others arms.
