Follow up Imagine Draco (Harry Potter fanfic)A Story by Beck LouiseThe last one was "to be continued"
It was truly awful to look up at the school you had loved so greatly all these years and see it in such ruins. Swallowing hard, you move past it, trying to focus on the task in hand. Sparks fly from every place imaginable. Your eyes dart from place to place, scared to only look in one direction. Death eaters were everywhere and if you looked away for even a second, it could cost you your life. This night was the kind that it was vital to have your wits about you, but for some reason you were unable to focus. Your mind fluttered absently towards Draco, but you pushed the memory away, feeling the pain of his image flood back. It was unbearable to think he was one of them, one of the deeply disturbed death eaters causing this horror and destruction. He was no longer the Draco you knew, and you had to accept that. Throwing a curse at Bellatrix, your mind is temporarily preoccupied. She laughs wildly at your attempt to get rid of her, pushing her wand in your direction once more, narrowly missing you. Your heart thuds, as it knows you are not strong enough to defeat her. You try your best, throwing out curses in your pathetically feeble attempt to at the very least, wound her. Her eyes widen, the evil resonating behind them pouring out, you see a flicker of terror and swallow hard, anticipating her movements. She raises her wand powerfully, beginning to cry out the words you had always feared. It's over now. You know it is, so you just close your eyes, hoping it's not painful, hoping it's quick. After a few seconds, you open them again, surprised to be alive still. Upon opening them, you gasp, looking at Bellatrix frozen on the floor, pale and lifeless. Confused, you look around for an order member. When you finally see him standing there, wand poised, your mouth falls open in utter shock. Draco killed her. No, he wouldn't, he couldn't kill his own Aunt. Shaking yourself, you remember why you haven't spoke in so long and quickly run in the other direction, not caring where you're running to, you have to get away from him. Why would he do that with so many other death eaters around? Why risk his own safety to save you? You couldn't help feeling so confused at his actions. You had little time to ponder these events as you saw Rookwood raise his wand and aim for you. Deflecting his curse, you ran once more. Running did nothing, they were everywhere. A flash of red and your wand flew out of your hand. Diving behind a pillar you breathed shallow pathetic breaths. Without a wand you may as well be a muggle standing among this raging war. There was a large blast and the pillar crumbled. You were left completely defenceless. You managed to dodge a few of his curses, but that was just luck, you knew it wouldn't last long. You scanned the area helplessly searching for an Order member, or anyone who could possibly help you, but there was no one. All that running had done was get you into a place completely deserted, death appearing to be the only option.
"Get away from her Dolohov" Here he was again. Wand poised Draco walked forward, his vision Focused on Dolohov "Don't be stupid Draco, she's in the Order. Don't want blood traiters like her!" He almost laughed saying this, as if he thought Draco was completely stupid for suggesting he keep you alive. "I mean it. Let her go" He didn't move an inch, his wand level with Dolohov's face. "What you gonna do, little boy" His face changed then, as he turned his wand to face Draco, switching his vision between the two of you. "I'll give you one last chance to let her go, or I'll kill you" Dolohov cackled viciously but Draco didn't even give him a change to respond, a flash of green and he was gone. You just sat there, in shock, wondering what to say to him. You felt obliged to thank him, but your pride and anger held you back. "That's the second time I've saved you tonight" his eyes almost twinkled when he said this "Don't think this changes anything. You're still one of them. If it wasn't me you wouldn't have killed either of them" You spat coldly, looking away from him. "Does that make a difference? I risked my life to save you! I'm not one of them, how many times do I need to tell you before you believe me! I thought killing me own Aunt would be proof enough, but no!" You let out a laugh at his childish ranting as he suddenly reminded you of the Draco you used to know. His face softened at you smile and he smiled back. Seeing this you changed your expression. "You're still an arse" You looked away again "as long as thats the worst you think of me, I'll settle for that" You said nothing. You didn't feel you were ready to smile at him yet, or acknowledge your love for him. You simply looked at him, and then walked away, and he just stood in the same spot for a while, smiling to himself.
