Uncondtionally BlindA Poem by natalieUnconditionally Blind I stand here, You don’t see me. What can I do to make you see? You seem too good, Act like I'm not standing here. You’re so shallow. Why when I say hi you say nothing. You never look at me, You act like you’re too cool with your sunglasses on. Why even wear them in school? You’re too worried about your image. Thinking it looks cool to have sunglasses on. I talk to my friends about you, Your friends glare. Why? Are they shallow like you? One walks up and says something, What she said astounded me. ….you’re blind? My stomach dropped, I felt a lump in the back of my throat, And I felt terrible. I understand now, I go to your locker like I used to, Flowers in hand. Kelly? You look to where the noise was from. Hi Kelly. You ask who I am. I’m Josh…will you go out with me? You smile We go to dinner and you seem sad. What’s wrong? I say Well…I’m blind you confess. I know I say, As I move some hair from your face. You look back up with that same smile. Time flies by… It seems like hours But really its months I love you unconditionally And you love me Will you marry me? You want me to be with someone. Someone who can see. But I don’t care and we’re happy. © 2010 natalie |
