being myself

being myself

A Poem by natalie

being myself

I was raised as a Christian child,

That’s all I knew,

I didn’t agree with some things,

But I thought it was the only option.

Now…if my father find out he’d go wild.

He’d even get upset if I was a Jew.

He’d pray that I was just going though some flings.

And when he found out I wasn’t…I’d have to consider adoption.

He doesn’t understand the Wiccan/pagan religions.

He thinks it’s about worshiping the devil

I’ll try to explain…

But he won’t hear…

He’d rather watch a couple pigeons.

And he’d bring it to a whole new level.

And he’d always complain.

And he’d always have a tear.

But that’s too bad for him

He’ll just have to stay grim.

"if my father find out"...That part could use some revision, but other than that this is nicely done. I can relate to this and this issue is why I keep my views to myself. It's not really worth advertising if it's going to put a gap between me and my family, but I applaud those who are not afraid to say who they are.
Also, you might want to edit the title. It is missing a letter. :)
