What Happened

I wrote this back when I left school and was trying to find my way.

What happened to the boy

in the picture by my window?

What happened to the boy

that I used to know?

Because his smiles have passed

and his laughs have gone;

the good times, they have vanished

and the pain has come.

 

Overcome by insecurity.

 

The walls close in

and time counts down

for him to make a change

 

and be happy.

 

What happened to the boy

who used to always care?

What happened to the boy

who would be there?

Because he just sits there all alone

playing all his tragic songs;

not knowing which way to go

or exactly where he belongs.
