The Brute is a GodA Poem by KTizzleWhat is civilization- to be civilized to be orderly? Is it having a place to sleep? Is it having food to eat or a set number of degrees or a set number of titles, talents, and territories catastrophe and suffering connect us all like the falling of rain suddenly one can find themselves without anything hungering for peace to sleep exhausted from having nothing to eat, kidnapped and stripped of social deliverance what is left but a brute? If that is true, that we are all capable of being a brute Does that mean our politicians are brutes? That long ago brutes were also emissaries of light condemning and capturing my people those awful nights? There are those who act above the law in this country. Cops, government officials, and the lot wave their magic fingers like gods but suck the blood of victims like vampires to hum with the strength of an enlightened empire Yet these gods do not know, they are so blind and do not see, even when they are bitten like Dan by the dark woman, that they are brutes like you and me. © 2016 KTizzleAuthor's Note
