I remember my initial excitement when Dad came to visit school back when I was a little boy. I guess he was quite tall or I was rather short. One of the two. :) In any case your wonderful poem reminded me of this very happy memory.

I was wondering why the word "do" was chosen at the end instead of the word "go"; not so much as for the sake of rhyme but for the sake of clarity. "the little girl couldn't wait to do" What? Do what? I'm assuming the answer is "go". I love the cute picture. I'm a father of daughters so I certainly feel the love here. I enjoyed the read.
