Essence of Life

Behold the glorious flame, the essence of life within us

I must strive to understand the spark within my core,

What is our connection to the divine, to each other, to the universe?

There must be a simple answer that I cannot comprehend,

this life is a series of small glimpses that leave me angry and confused.

This quest could be my undoing.

This poem has been revised a few times but I would like to have any feedback you could provide, even if it's just to say you like/hate it.

You had a strong beginning but i thought it went a bit flat. I hate saying negative things but you have potential and you should write more to learn how to keep the whole poem at a high quality. Burn out is what kills most poetry so fight it! I mean this in the most positive of lights as i have the same problem. Otherwise i liked the subject matter and some smart phrasing in there: 'this quest could be my undoing'. Keep writing
